The basemap is the basis for making a map. Before adding layers, you need to add a basemap first. MapStudio supports two types of basemaps, the map-type basemap and the solid-color background as a basemap, for you to use.
In MapStudio, select 'Basemap' in the left sidebar to choose the basemap. According to your needs, you can select the 'built-in' item to select a map as the basemap; or select the 'Color' item to select a solid color background as the basemap.
MapStudio offers the built-in China Dark basemap by default, and also supports adding map services and major Internet maps as the built-in basemaps. The basemap supports most geographic and projected coordinate systems. The administrator can add or delete the default basemap via the Default basemap configuration.
Note: If the WKT of custom coordinate system (EPSG code: -1000) in basemap is not correct, the basemap cannot be used it in MapStudio and will be marked "This coordinate system is not supported yet" in the corresponding basemap card in the basemap list.
The solid-color basemap supports setting the coordinate system and color of the basemap. It supports most geographic and projection coordinate systems. In 'Coordinate system' drop-down menu, you can set the coordinate system and the basemap can be set to the solid-color basemap under the corresponding spatial reference. Supported coordinate systems include:
After selecting the basemap, you can add maps or data consistent with the basemap coordinate system as a layer.
In MapStudio, select Basemap in the left panel, select Built-in or Color tab in the sub-panel and add the corresponding basemap.
